Workplace Health & Safety Awareness

This Work Health and Safety (WHS) / Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Awareness course serves as a general induction to essential WHS/OHS legislation, processes, and best practices. It is designed to equip both employers and employees with a thorough understanding of their roles and responsibilities under the Work Health and Safety legislation.

On completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of:

  • WHS/OHS concepts and why workplace safety is important including key statistics from SafeWork Australia.
  • Work Health and Safety laws and regulations, including key terminology and definitions.
  • Their specific duties and obligations of employers and employees in maintaining a safe workplace including their roles and responsibilities.
  • Legislative Framework and the roles of regulatory bodies and enforcement agencies.
  • Consultation, Co-operation and Co-ordination strategies for encouraging safety engagement and effective communication.
  • The Risk Management process: hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk control.
  • Methods for identifying workplace hazards, conducting risk assessments and implementing risk control measures (hierarchy of controls).
  • Develop a Safety Management plan.

All our trainers are qualified and experienced Consultants who have worked across many industry sectors.

While incorporating some of your organisational policy and procedures relevant to the topic is included, you can request additional customisation for a more bespoke experience. 

Our experienced and qualified facilitators will work closely with you to tailor your training to suit your organisational needs, workplace and the participants (additional fee applies).

Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance on successful completion of this course.
